Because It's You — Eugénie & Alexandre

There are stories that don’t begin with something obvious, but with a journey. Alexandre had never really imagined himself getting married. His family history, his view of marriage, what he’d seen around him… all of that had long kept him at a distance from the idea. And then there was Eugénie. No grand gesture. No magic words. Rather, something that settled in gently, naturally. A presence, an intimate certainty, a way of loving that ultimately changes how one views the future. In this film, I wanted to tell that particular story: that of a man who didn’t necessarily believe in marriage, but who is nevertheless moving toward it, because this time, it’s her. Because it’s them. The voice of Antoine, Alexandre’s brother, accompanies this story with great discretion. Through his words, we discover a brotherly bond forged over time, a family history, and emotions that are sometimes held back, then shared. His narration lends a special depth to this day: this wedding isn’t just the union of two people; it’s also a moment when families come together, when bonds are affirmed, and when love flows in a different way. This film isn’t just a memory of a beautiful wedding day. It’s the story of a commitment that found its meaning with the right person.
