🇺🇸 A wedding film about absence, distance, and everything that finally comes together.

Jennifer had always dreamed of France. Of Europe, of Paris, of this idea of somewhere else that had been with her since childhood. But that dream took on a whole new meaning when she met Bastien.

Their story could have remained a fleeting chapter, held back by distance, countries, time zones, and the pandemic. But it lasted. It grew despite the absence, through calls, effort, family, and the people who supported them on both sides.

At Château Gassies, this wedding weekend became the meeting point of all of it: the France she had dreamed of, the love they had carried through distance, the families finally gathered, the friends who had travelled from far away, and this “yes” as a decisive moment.

I wanted to build this film as a sensitive narrative, where each voice opens a different part of their story: the humor of an American officiant attempting a line from Lamartine, a father’s words about his daughter, a mother’s emotion as she realizes how far they have come, Jennifer’s vows to Bastien, and finally Bastien’s answer.

An elegant yet vibrant film, intimate yet full of celebration, shaped as a journey: from absence to presence, from distance to reunion, from a childhood dream to a life beginning together.
